Cecelia Hopes and friends from The Arts will be presenting a special, hands-on youth workshop on Saturday. Youth aged 12 -18 may register for one of two sessions to learn different styles of print-making.

Connie Voight and company of M.A.P. Kids (Music, Art, and Practicality) will share her knowledge of the theatre with Saturday youth workshops! Register to attend for instruction to make your cosplay shine, with stage combat, getting into character, striking a pose, and more. Workshops are age-appropriate for youth 8-12 and 13-18.

COASTCON
CoastCon is Mississippi's longest-running not-for-profit science fiction, fantasy, media, cosplay, and gaming convention. It is the main sponsored event of CoastCon, Inc., a non-profit literary organization. CoastCon, Inc. and its ten-member volunteer board develops events and gatherings to promote reading, education, fellowship, and science fiction, fantasy, and gaming in all formats across the Southern United States, for nearly fifty years.

Art By Artemis Solas is an anime and video game resin artist. The owner, Jessi, makes a variety of things made of resin such as hairclips, mirror, earrings, and keychains! She also makes sublimation items and vinyl items like cups, shirts, tote bags, mouse pads, and pencil cases. All of Jessi's items feature video game characters, anime characters, and other various geeky, kawaii, or alternative aesthetics.

Melissa Carrigee is the author of I Dream of Dragons and contributing writer for The Mississippi Gulf Coast and Neighboring Sites and Gulf Coast Parents & Kids magazine. She has worked as a literary agent and as a creative director and editor for Cactus Moon Publishing's children’s book line.

Connie Voight—with over 40 years of experience teaching theatre—will present activities to helpyou get ready for our cosplay contest! Participants will be provided with supplies and instruction. Our annual celebration of all things pop culture was held Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Bay St. Louis Community Hall at 301 Blaize Avenue. Our growing, library mini-con had a dedicated video gaming space, table gaming space, special guest presenters, a cosplay contest, and an expo hall full of creators and performers for every fandom. Uncle Joe’s Pizza & Wings and Sherri’s Sweet Treats were on hand for food and drinks.
We were overwhelmed by the positive response from the community! Thank you to the generous sponsors, to the fantastic volunteers, to the amazing exhibitors and presenters, and of course, the dynamic super-fans. Come back for more next year!
